Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series Returns for Its 21st Season
Alpenglow Winter Speaker Series
The Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series returns for season 21 with stories from athletes and adventurers whose lives revolve around the mountains. Presented by the North Tahoe Chamber, the free community series brings outdoor exploration and local connection together each winter.
The 2026–27 program begins December 3 with professional skier and filmmaker Amie Engerbretson. The evening benefits the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association (TCCSEA). Four more speakers follow in the new year:
- January 8, 2027: Jim Morrison – Ski Mountaineer
- January 29, 2027: Craig Murray – Freeskier
- February 19, 2027: Will Gadd – Ice Climber & Paraglider
- March 5, 2027: Dave Nettle – Local Mountain Guide
Giving back is a central part of the series. Each speaker is matched with a local nonprofit, bringing attention and financial support to its work. Giveaways, fundraising and community participation carry that impact beyond the presentations.
The talks are held at the Palisades Tahoe Olympic Village Event Center. Admission is free, all ages are welcome, and registration is not required. You can also watch through the Alpenglow Sports YouTube channel.
Doors open at 6 p.m., leaving time for dinner, drinks, raffle tickets and catching up before the presentations begin at 7 p.m.
Whether you join the crowd or watch from home, this is a chance to hear the people behind memorable mountain adventures and connect with the wider Truckee–Tahoe community.
