Opening Days Are Taking Shape

These are the announced target dates, subject to weather and snow conditions:

  • Northstar California: November 20

What’s New on the Mountain

Northstar California

Northstar is targeting November 20 and introducing Snow Start, with selected all-day group lessons taught by native Mandarin-speaking instructors. The new ski-school offering is intended to help new and developing skiers and snowboarders feel more comfortable on the mountain.

Palisades Tahoe

Palisades is investing $3.2 million in remote avalanche mitigation systems, expanding snowmaking along Mountain Run and adding three diesel-electric snowcats with LiDAR technology. The winter lineup also includes beginner offerings, programs and events.

Sugar Bowl

Sugar Bowl’s major improvement program includes replacing the historic Village Gondola with an eight-passenger system. The project is designed to increase capacity and storm reliability while creating a fully ADA-accessible connection to the Village. Work at the Main Lodge is also part of the broader revitalization.

Winter Is Around the Corner

Opening dates are always conditional in Tahoe, but their return to the calendar is a welcome reminder that ski season is approaching.
